The Chefs Table is voted 3rd in the UK in the Top 100 Best Restaurant List with OpenTable for 2014

From OpenTable

Since its launch just ten months ago, The Chefs Table has certainly surprised and delighted its guests for brunch, lunch and dinner. Hidden away in an almost secret location, they strive to offer the best seasonal dining experience in the North West.

Owners Liam Mckay and Tom Hughes opened this glorious artisan eaterie back in April 2014 and have never looked back, especially as they have just been awarded third place in the entire country of Top 100 Best Restaurants 2014 with National restaurant guide OpenTable. The day to day management is taken care of by Katie-Anne McLachlan who does a superb job ensuring that everyone in the business delivers this award-winning guest experience.

This acclaimed list is based on more than 340,000 reviews written by OpenTable diners this year, and features some of the best places to eat in the UK right now. In fact, The Chefs Table has beaten some of the UK’s finest restaurants including The Fat Duck from Heston Blumenthal, Fera at Claridges and Hibiscus London to name but a few.

The ‘chef’ part of this dynamic relationship is Liam Mckay who has worked his way up well-and-truly through the ranks from the Chester Grosvenor, to the uber-popular Joseph Benjamin and onto the equally celebrated Upstairs at the Grill, before joining forces with seasoned Chester operator Tom Hughes and right hand girl Katie.

To say the trio compliment each other perfectly is an understatement, and together they have delivered a unique dining experience to a broad yet discerning clientele in Chester – and much further afield, as their reputation now dictates.

Local food partners are very important to the concept and are constantly monitored for the very best quality. Liam is completely influenced by the fresh local produce available that day and changes the menus weekly with exciting dishes to capture the taste of the season. An added touch to their small restaurant is that the kitchen is completely open, allowing guests to interact with the chefs and watch their food being cooked.

The Chefs Table is totally unique; not only do they serve beautiful dishes, great wines at very good prices and a selection of contemporary cocktails and craft beers, they also sell pre-loved cookery books too – and in keeping with their ‘keep it local’ ethos, the walls are adorned with original artwork from superb up & coming local artists.

For this gorgeous little restaurant to have been voted third best in the country after only ten months of trading is an amazing achievement, but maybe not so much of a surprise after a visit – watch this space…
