Hundreds of Club Individual members and guests visited the Pepper Street restaurant to celebrate the official opening of the new £3m Grill.
Throughout the evening guests were treated to complimentary champagne and a variety of tasty canapé’s, ranging from Yakatori chicken to Wagyu beef skewers and Iced banana profiteroles.
Music was provided by resident DJ Julien Jeanne and Opera Grill’s in-house band The Collective, who were joined by guest singers; former X Factor contestant Kiera Weathers and one of the top vocalist’s in house music: Lisa Millett. The Collective play every Wednesday at Opera Grill.
Entertainment was also provided by speed painter Dave Sharp, who wowed guests with his lightning speed recreations of Jose Mourinho and Pepe Guardiola, which he originally painted for the Premiership clash of the local rivals.
To add to the glamour, local racing driver Seb Mason arrived in his Bentley GT, welcoming guests into the party ahead of his British GT Championship finale at Donnington Park.
He said: “Chester is my hometown, so I was thrilled that Opera Grill invited me to take part in their launch party. I have visited the restaurant regularly since it opened and I both the venue and the food are amazing. I think Opera Grill looks set to become ‘the place’ to eat and drink in Chester.”
General Manager of Opera Grill, Tom Culshaw, also commented: “The launch party went fantastically well. Lots of people came along to see our new addition, everyone enjoyed themselves into the early hours. We saw lots of old friends, made many new ones and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.”
Seb Morris is a professional racing driver from Marford, near Wrexham in Wales. Earlier this year the twenty-year-old competed with Rick Parfitt Jnr in the British GT Championship, where he drove a 190mph Bentley for Team Parker Racing.
To celebrate the launch of Opera Grill Seb attended the event in full racing gear, providing guests with the opportunity to have their picture taken with his Bentley GT racing car, at the front of the restaurant.
From portraits and products to logos and movie characters, speed painter Dave Sharp, brings to life a huge variety of artwork, all performed on an oversize black canvas, with soundtracks synched to a dynamic and theatrical painting style.
Using two brushes and big flowing strokes, Dave paints his images in a matter of minutes, teasing the audience to guess who or what the final subject is.
You may recognise him from Britain’s Got Talent, where he wowed the audience with his passionate, dynamic performance, receiving four yes’ from the judges. More recently, he has created portraits of a couple of Premier League footballers, which were shown on television ahead of the Manchester Derby.
To celebrate the launch of Opera Grill, Dave painted a caricature of Bentley GT racing driver Seb Morris, plus a couple of other famous faces!
