Voting commences this week – Friday 13th January and has been extended to 8 weeks of voting to find out who the winners will be of the 2017 Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Awards. The Chronicle, in conjunction with the Chester Food Drink & Lifestyle Festival will again be looking for you to nominate your favourite establishment from across the county, in the categories that are most applicable.
Last year the awards exceeded 30,000 votes and organisers have extended the voting period by an extra two weeks to accommodate the many people who want to vote for their favourite venue. Taste Cheshire General Manager, Lisa Edwards said “These awards are a benchmark of quality right across Cheshire. They have been in existence for 18 years and the popularity amongst voters gets stronger and stronger. The eating and drinking scene across the county is so vibrant right now and we believe these awards show the incredibly high standard on offer and are a driver for the county to continue to excel as The County of Food and Drink. No other county has an awards voted for by so many people and Cheshire is fast becoming the hospitality county of the UK. We at Taste Cheshire are proud to be able to shout about our venues and to honour those at the pinnacle of their profession”
The process to vote is simple and you are encouraged to vote for your favourite place in the appropriate category by going on line to www.tastecheshire.com and then going to the voting page. Voting is free so get involved now.
You can vote for whomever you wish in every category that is relevant but only one voting form will register from each computer.
When voting finishes on the 10th March Taste Cheshire will name the four/five nominations in each category who will be mystery dined by a panel of industry judges. These judges will then fill in a report on each venue, which becomes available to the venue after the winners have been announced, showing how their business was judged.
The 2017 winners will be crowned at a glittering dinner on the 19th April which will be held at the Pavilion at Chester Racecourse. Tickets for this night are just £50.00 per person with a table of ten costing just £450 and include a pre-dinner cocktail and a 4 course gala meal provided by Horseradish Catering.
This is the one night of the year the hospitality industry, collectively lets its hair down and it is always one of the feature nights of the calendar.
