Here at We Love Cheshire – we like to get out and about as much as we can, and we are lucky enough to receive some lovely invitations to great events, fabulous hotels and the best restaurants – all over the region.
But we have never received an invitation quite like the one we received from Heather Morgan from Motor Safari, North Wales, and Porchse Centre Chester. The itinerary sent through to WLC HQ had us literally quaking with excitement… read on and we’ll tell you why!
I have known about Motor Safari in North Wales for a number of years and always really fancied having a go of this über-exciting 4×4 off-road driving experience, but had never got round to it.
I have seen on social media how dedicated Heather Morgan and husband Peter are to their business, and also have heard and read fabulous reviews from scores of very happy clients.
So I was delighted when Heather sent me a message to ask if I’d like to attend an afternoon with Porsche Chester, Motor Safari and The Chester Grosvenor. I said yes immediately, of course. She even said I could bring a friend – and as this was a ladies event, I got texting my fab friend Carry Stevens who I knew would absolutely love to come along with me.
Then came through the itinerary from Kat at Porsche Centre Chester asking us to choose a treatment at The Chester Grosvenor, and we knew we were in for a very special afternoon indeed.
We were asked to rendezvous at the newly refurbished Porsche Centre Chester (Cheshire Oaks) at midday on Wednesday 15th March, which just so happened to be the most beautiful sunny Spring day with crystal clear blue skies – where 3 brand new 718 Boxter’s sat in pride of place; one black, one red and one Miami blue. They had their roofs down ready and sparkled in the sunshine.
After a lovely lunch and a chat with our co-guests, it was time to pick-a-porsche – and after a briefing from the team, off we drove in convoy to Motor Safari in North Wales to meet Heather and Peter. No wonder police cars started appearing in random positions on the A483 – they had good reason – this was most definitely ladies-do-Top Gear!
We arrived at Motor Safari to a very warm welcome – Porsche photographer Sarah was ready and waiting to capture the moment, and Heather ushered us into their Seren Barn, an absolutely gorgeous and most unexpected space, perfect for special occasion events and weddings (I will most certainly be booking some parties here with you Heather).
After refreshments and a briefing about the 4×4 experience just ahead of us, it was time to get into the Porsche Cayenne’s for a Motor Safari experience that none of us would ever forget.
Motor Safari is 5 Star rated and famous for offering unique 4×4 driving experiences, 4×4 training, team building and corporate events. With over 29 years experience, Motor Safari provides be-spoke and tailor made multi-activity events for 1 to 100 guests, that can include up to 30 activities including 4×4, quad, archery, target shooting, paintball, helicopters and much more.
We all had a fabulous experience and felt an enormous sense of achievement – driving off-road in this very safe and supervised environment really brings out the competitor in you and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
Then it was time to transfer back into our stunning Miami blue Boxter along with our new friends, and head to The Chester Grosvenor to meet up with their Sales Manager Joanne Tipper who had waved us off from The Porsche Centre earlier in the day.
What a welcome! The third fabulous welcome we had received in just one afternoon. Spoilt rotten doesn’t even come close.
We handed the keys over to Head Concierge Kevin who parked them majestically next to each other – ready for more photographs and plenty of Chester city center admirers, while we were taken upstairs for the most delightful afternoon tea and a good chat with Jo. We were all as excited and delighted as each other to have been invited, but the day wasn’t over yet.
I think our hosts had anticipated that we would need calming down after such huge excitement, so we all received a treatment of choice to finish off our day. Carry and I opted for a massage each, which was heavenly. The Spa staff at The Chester Grosvenor really are superbly trained, the experience was blissful and exactly what was needed.
After more tea and cake with Jo, it was time to get back in our chariots and head back to Porsche to hand them back. No one there would mind however if we took our time and enjoyed the scenic route back…
I would like to say a massive thank you to Heather and Peter from Motor Safari, Kat and the team from Porsche Centre Chester and to Jo and the Spa team at The Chester Grosvenor. This was such a unique and generous gift of an afternoon, and one which we will never, ever forget.
