TSB, on Eastgate Row has chosen Deafness Support Network (DSN) as its Local Charity Partner and has sold a number of books and held raffles to raise vital funds for the charity.
In the run up to Easter, customers and shoppers in the city can take part in a raffle to win an hamper filled with seasonal goodies.
Angela Roberts, TSB Local Banker, said: “Our customers chose DSN as our Local Charity Partner as it is a much-loved and well regarded cause in the city, doing great work. If our fundraising efforts can help to raise deaf awareness at the same time as raising money to help a charity carry out its services, all the better.”
Angela, from Westminster Park and has worked for the bank for four years has taken up the challenge of the Chester Half Marathon in May, which she is now in training for.
Alongside their series of fundraising events, TSB Partners have also created a book shop in the bank, with a bookshelf donated by the local community.
“We really are a very local bank for local people here and it goes to show that we have the full support of our very caring and loyal customers,” added Angela. “I’ve done lots of volunteering and work for other charities in the past and I’m really pleased to be helping a charity so close to the hearts of our customers too. I just hope I can get through those 13 miles now!”
As part of the partnership, DSN has offered Deaf Awareness Training to all staff and test their hearing loop, already installed at TSB.
Rhys Edwards, Fundraising Manager at DSN said: “We can’t thank the team at TSB enough for their energy and dedication to truly make a difference by helping us to raise vital funds to help us deliver our services to children, families and those living with a hearing loss all across the county – not just in Chester.”
