Based on (surprisingly) the 2nd floor of 19A Upper Northgate Street, above the new Sak’s Hairdressers and the respectable Minerva Lodge Tattoo Club. The 2nd Floor is a hub of creativity in the heart of the city centre.
Featuring established local independent brands, ‘Junkbox’ (Carrie Hyndman), a fashion label specialising in streetwear apparel for skaters, surfers, and snowboarders and ‘The Grunge Monkey’ (Kimberley Anderson) a fun and playful fashion brand, with a mission to inspire young girls and women to take life less seriously and to love who they are inside and out. Also home to a collection of other local artists and makers work in and around the North West.
The 2nd floor is going to be your new favourite hangout because you will also be able to grab a hot drink, play some foosball and board games or read a book. They will also be hosting the re-launch of the Bandstand. A local initiative to provide a platform for the independent music scene of Chester where you can listen and purchase local musicians work.
Filled with exciting and interesting finds, this venue, establishment, shop, workshop, creative space, hang out … aims to provide a little something for everyone, whilst also filling a gap in Chester’s limited alternative shopping scene.
Launch date is April 7th (Saturday) when you can see the finished article, have a drink and listen to some music from Chester favourites Ennio the Little Brother, Campfire Social and Sustinere.
