Cheshire-based Roberts Bakery Band will be taking to Bluedot festival’s main stage next weekend with a set that’s a very far cry from the expected.
Taking place at Jodrell Bank from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd July, Bluedot is a cosmic festival where music, science and space discovery collide.
The Band will perform as it’s never been seen before and is asking music fans and followers to help create the most powerful and popular playlist for its set by voting for songs here. There’s a whole host of the hottest hits to choose from, including Get Lucky by Pharrell Williams, Human by Rag’n’Bone man and Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
The ten songs that receive the most votes will then be played on the main stage, against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the famous Lovell telescope, on Sunday 22nd July.
And five lucky people who take the time to vote will be randomly selected to each win a pair of VIP Bluedot tickets – including camping from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd July, as well as access to the Celestial VIP bar.
Roberts’ family member Lindsay Occleston said: “As a brand that’s rooted in innovation, Bluedot is a fabulous fit. We pride ourselves on creating a tantalising twist on the traditional – whether that’s adding a splash of gin and dash of tonic to a teacake or a handful of chilli flakes to a soft corn roll.
The Roberts band will be following in the footsteps of Hannah Peel and Tubular Brass at last year’s Bluedot who performed Mike Oldfield’s electronic classic Tubular Bells on the very same Lovell Stage.
“The Roberts Brass Band taking to the main stage at such a serious music festival – playing their own “brilliantly brassy” renditions of some of the most popular songs of recent years – supports our insatiable appetite for embracing all things new and unexpected.”
Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 15th July. The five winners will each be notified by email on Monday 16th July 2018. To vote, visit http://brassband.robertsbakery.co.uk.
